Terms & Conditions

By downloading, installing, or using the Ugzo Health mobile application or website ("Platform"), you ("User") agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Platform.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Ugzo Health Technologies Ltd., a company incorporated under Nigerian law (RC: 1234567), with its registered address at Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria.

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Platform after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. We will notify users of material changes via email or in-app notification.

Ugzo Health provides a digital health platform that enables users to:

• Connect with licensed medical practitioners via video consultations

• Book, schedule, and manage medical appointments

• Receive digital prescriptions and referral letters

• Access lab test booking and pharmacy ordering services

• Store and manage personal health records

• Receive health information and educational content

Ugzo Health is NOT an emergency medical service. In the event of a medical emergency, please call Nigeria Emergency Services (199) or go to your nearest hospital immediately. The Platform supplements but does not replace in-person medical care where required.

To use Ugzo Health, you must:

• Be at least 18 years of age. Users between 13–17 may use the Platform only with verifiable parental or guardian consent.

• Provide accurate and complete registration information

• Be located in Nigeria or an approved jurisdiction at the time of service

• Not be prohibited by Nigerian law from receiving healthcare services

By registering, you confirm that all information you provide is truthful, accurate, and complete.

Ugzo Health facilitates connections between patients and independent medical practitioners. We do not employ or directly supervise the doctors on our platform. All doctors are licensed and verified under the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).

The medical advice, diagnoses, prescriptions, and recommendations provided through the Platform are the professional opinions of the individual licensed practitioners, not Ugzo Health Technologies Ltd.

Ugzo Health does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of any medical information provided. You should always seek the advice of a qualified healthcare provider regarding any medical questions you may have.

Consultations conducted via the Platform are subject to the same confidentiality obligations as in-person consultations under Nigerian Medical Ethics and the relevant data protection laws.

Consultation fees are set by individual practitioners and are displayed clearly before booking. All fees are displayed in Nigerian Naira (₦).

Payments are processed through our secure payment partners (Paystack, Flutterwave). By making a payment, you authorise Ugzo Health to charge the stated consultation fee.

Refund Policy:

• Full refund: If a doctor cancels or fails to attend the consultation

• Full refund: If you cancel at least 2 hours before the scheduled time

• No refund: If you cancel less than 2 hours before the scheduled time

• Partial refund (50%): If technical issues on our platform prevent a full consultation

Disputed charges must be raised within 7 days of the consultation via support@ugzohealth.ng.

Your use of the Platform is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By accepting these Terms, you also accept our Privacy Policy.

We process your personal and health data in accordance with the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA) 2023, the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (NDPR), and any other applicable laws. Your health information is treated as sensitive data and protected accordingly.

You agree NOT to:

• Provide false medical or personal information

• Use the Platform for fraudulent, abusive, or illegal purposes

• Harass, threaten, or abuse any doctor, staff, or other user

• Attempt to reverse engineer, hack, or disrupt the Platform

• Share your account credentials with third parties

• Record consultations without the explicit consent of the doctor

• Resell or commercialise any aspect of the Platform without our written consent

Violation of these rules may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account and, where appropriate, legal action.

All content on the Platform — including text, graphics, logos, icons, images, audio clips, software, and the "Ugzo Health" name and brand — is the exclusive property of Ugzo Health Technologies Ltd. and is protected under Nigerian and international intellectual property laws.

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Platform for personal healthcare purposes only. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works without our prior written consent.

To the maximum extent permitted by Nigerian law, Ugzo Health Technologies Ltd. shall not be liable for:

• Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform

• Medical outcomes resulting from consultations on the Platform

• Technical disruptions beyond our reasonable control (force majeure)

• Actions or omissions of independent medical practitioners

Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid for the specific consultation giving rise to the claim.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall first be addressed through good-faith negotiation. If unresolved within 30 days, disputes shall be submitted to binding arbitration under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, Cap A18, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria.

The courts of Lagos State, Nigeria shall have exclusive jurisdiction over matters not subject to arbitration.
